This apprenticeship program combines classroom
instruction in Electronic Systems with on-the-job
training to prepare City of San Diego Communication
Technicians in the areas of installation, maintenance
and repair of communications equipment in City
facilities and vehicles.

Admission To The Program
Indenture in a state-approved apprenticeship program is a required prerequisite to enroll in the apprenticeship related and supplemental classes. Applicants for apprenticeship should contact the employer, program coordinator or labor union listed before each program
in the apprenticeship course description section of the catalog. Each of the individual programs listed in the apprenticeship course description section of this catalog is administered by an apprenticeship committee made up of member representatives from the
respective trades or industries. This committee serves as the approval body for all apprenticeship matters relating to the particular trade.
