Accounting is the art of communicating financial information about a company, not-for-profit organization, or government agency. The first course, Financial Accounting, discusses how economic information about corporations is communicated to outsiders such as investors and creditors. The second course, Managerial Accounting, discusses how economic information is communicated to insiders such as supervisors and other employees. Other courses in the department focus on how accounting and tax information is prepared.

Transfer students may also earn an Associate of Arts degree in Transfer Studies. This degree is individually tailored to each student's specific transfer requirements in order to provide the most efficient path to transfer.
