The Fire Protection Technology department offers
programs in a wide range of subject areas related to
careers in the fields associated with the technology of
fire protection, rescue, and public safety employment.
This program provides theory and training necessary for
successful performance in a variety of settings and
positions. Emphasis is placed on modern methods of
fire prevention, fire suppression, fire service
management, and public safety. Public and private fire
protection systems, life safety of fire service personnel
and civilians, protection of property through the
application of code enforcement, and the increasing
problems of hazardous materials, emergency medical
services, rescue, urban interface, and arson are studied.
